Julia & Neil's Engagement Sneak Peek

Julia and Neil were married this past weekend and while I do not have their wedding images ready to share yet I am just now sharing a few images from their engagement session! I can't wait to share their wedding images as it was a gorgeous day with a beautiful bride and handsome groom. For their engagement session we went to Rainbow Haven Beach and it ended up being such a bright sunny day that it was hard to shoot without getting horrible shadows and squinting. Instead of giving up we decided to head to the boardwalk in Dartmouth and found a bit of shade to shoot in and had a ton of fun!

Julia and Neil are parents to one of the cutest little boys that I have ever laid eyes on! Not only is he adorable but he is always smiling :) They decided that they wanted a few of their engagement pics to include their son because he is such a huge part of their lives and relationship. Standing back and watching this family interact together I just couldn't help but smile myself. The way these parents look at their son with so much love and adoration just gave me goose bumps.

Congratulations guys! You seem to have found what so many of us are out their looking for in a relationship. I have no doubt that amazing things are waiting for your family in the years to come.

CEED Networking and SEB Graduation

I have been so busy over the past few weeks that I have not found the time to update my blog! I was hired last month by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development (CEED) to photograph a networking event and Self Employment Benefits Program (SEB) graduation. I am an SEB participant and have received an immense amount of help with my own business startup through this program which is affiliated with CEED here in Halifax. If anyone is looking to start their own business I would highly recommend the assistance of the amazing individuals at CEED! Opening a business can be a very overwhelming experience but with the help of everyone at CEED and their offered programs and workshops you can take an idea and quickly turn it into a reality!

The SEB participants that graduated from the program on this particular evening were some of the first graduates here in Halifax to finish this amazing program consisting of workshops, guidance and a lot of motivation from the folks at CEED.

The event was catered by the talented Jennifer Spalding of Culinary Inspiration. The food was mouth watering and absolutely delicious! If you're looking to hire a personal chef or someone to cater an event I would totally recommend hiring Jennifer. Not only was the food to die for but it was also very creative and different from anything else that I have had the pleasure of being served at a networking event.

So what makes a good business networking event? Well, great food and drinks of course and lots of entrepreneurs looking to make contacts, trade business cards and possibly drum up some business for themselves! Oh, and lots of laughs are very important as well.

Alison + Mike = True Love

Alison and Mike are just one of those couples that you spend less than a minute with and know that they are perfect for each other. They both have such a great sense of humor and totally understand my sarcastic nature! I never know how some clients will react when I suggest trying something a little "out there" for a photo op but Alison and Mike were up for anything and made my job super easy :) They didn't even complain when I made them roll around in the grass which in turn aggravated about a million black flies which then attempted to eat us all alive.

Thanks for an awesome session Alison and Mike!! You guys were real troopers!! I hope that you like your sneak peek and that you think that being eaten alive by all of the flies was worth it :)

Christina is Having a Baby Girl!

Christina is a dear friend of mine whom I love to bits! She's one of those people that can always make me laugh and I absolutely love spending time with her. Christina is expecting her second child (a girl!) in August and if this little bundle is half as cute as her first baby girl I'm sure she will be gorgeous.

A few weeks ago we had a gorgeous day and decided to head out to Rainbow Haven beach just before sunset to capture a few pics of her and her baby belly. We are planning a few more maternity sessions before August so I'm sure I'll be posting more images to share in the near future.

Thanks for a great evening of picture taking Christina! I'm looking forward to our upcoming sessions and I hope you like the sneak peek :)
